The Personnel Improvement Center and Project Forum presented a free webinar on State Level Strategies for Recruiting and Retaining Special Education and Related Service Personnel on February 22, 2011. There were 190 participants who heard state level staff from AZ, CA, KS, LA, NC, ND, SC and UT discuss 10 strategies they have found effective in recruiting and retaining personnel. Laying the Groundwork: What Principals Can Do to Support Beginning Special Education Teachers Through Induction
In October, The Personnel Improvement Center (PIC), the National Center to Inform Policy and Practice in Special Education Professional Development (NCIPP), the National Association for Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the National Coalition on Personnel Shortages in Special Education and the Related Services co-sponsored a free webinar on the principal's role in supporting mentoring programs for special education teachers at the building level. On Wednesday, February 23, the Personnel Improvement Center collaborated with the National Coalition on Personnel Shortages in Special Education and Related Services and the National Association of Elementary School Principals to present a webinar focused on principal leadership for support of special education and related service providers.
